Talent Search OfferingsTalent Search is a free college planning and preparation program for first generation students with the potential to succeed in collegebut who may face barriers to obtaining higher education. The program is open to eligible students from Thomasville or Lexington City schools in grades six through twelve. The program provides academic, career, and financial counseling to its participants and encourages them to graduate from high school, continue to college, and complete their postsecondary education. Talent Search is also open to eligible students in need of reentry into secondary or postsecondary schools. The goal of Talent Search is to increase the number of students from Thomasville and Lexington City schools who complete high school and enroll in and complete their postsecondary education. 

How to Apply:

 To apply for the Talent Search program, submit the required application and student assessment by completing one of the following options:

1. Return forms to your school guidance counselor
2. Email forms to TalentSearch@DavidsonCCC.edu
3. Fax forms to 336-224-0240
4. Mail forms to ATTN: Paula Langston-Ware, 297 DCC Road, Thomasville, NC 27360

  • Advice on entry or re-entry to secondary or postsecondary programs

Who can participate? 

  • Be a 6th-12th grader enrolled in Thomasville and Lexington City Schools
  • Maintain enrollment and graduate from Thomasville or Lexington City Schools
  • Be the first student in your family to go to college
  • Meet the programs economic requirements
  • Participate in program activities
  • Complete the paper application, release form and student assessment
