Outdoor and Hiking Club

Mission Statement

We desire to organize community and friendship among DCCC students who enjoy nature and wilderness experiences. While being in college can be stressful, this club exists to give students a healthy outlet to escape studying for a few hours during the week, on the weekend or during college breaks. We hope to also promote knowledge of the natural world and state parks through experience. More than anything we desire to connect students who might not otherwise know one another. Being a member of The Outdoor and Hiking club is a great way to meet other students at DCCC who enjoy outdoor activities, such as hiking, camping, and skiing. Previous trips have included hiking and camping at Stone Mountain, hiking at Boone's Cave state park, and Skiing at Beech Mountain.

Club Activities:

Going to many of the state and national parks in the state of North Carolina and Virginia.
