North Carolina Railroad Company Announces Supply Chain Management Scholarship

The North Carolina Railroad Company (NCRR) is awarding a new scholarship in partnership with Davidson County Community College (DCCC). The NCRR Supply Chain Management Scholarship will provide funds of up to $2,000 annually ($1,000 per semester) for one DCCC student enrolled, or intending to enroll, in an Associate in Applied Science degree program of study in supply chain management, formerly known as global logistics and distribution, at Davidson County Community College.

“The North Carolina Railroad Company’s history is rooted in economic development and job creation. We understand that rail-served industry requires a skilled workforce to meet its logistics and distribution management needs,” said NCRR President Scott Saylor. “We are excited to partner with Davidson County Community College on this scholarship and make meaningful investments in North Carolina’s workforce.”

“Scholarships are a vital part of our efforts to help students be successful at Davidson County Community College,” said DCCC President Mary Rittling. “We are so pleased to have this new scholarship available to our supply chain management students and deeply appreciate the efforts of the North Carolina Railroad Company. The NCRR understands the role that student success plays in creating a talented workforce.”

The North Carolina Railroad Company owns 317 miles of track running from Charlotte to the Port Terminal at Morehead City.
