DCCC to Host Annual ‘Quiz Bowl’ Competition for Area High Schools

Jan. 22, 2013 – Davidson County Community College will challenge the knowledge of students from six area high schools once again by hosting the annual Quiz Bowl competition. The event will be held at 7 p.m. on Jan. 24 in the Conference Center of the DCCC Davidson Campus.

Students from Central Davidson, Davidson Early College, Lexington Senior, North Davidson, South Davidson and West Davidson high schools will compete by answering questions in a variety of subject matter.

Moderated by Gerald Bosh, history instructor at DCCC, the event will be judged by DCCC faculty members Michael Liu, Gloria Johnson and Jon Foster. Questions for the event are selected by both judges and representatives from the Davidson County Public Library System.

“We are looking forward to challenging these high school students in a fun but educational competition,” says Terri Poindexter Smith, executive director of Marketing and Communications at DCCC. “This is a great opportunity for students to test their knowledge, and we are excited to invite the community to see the contest.”
