DCCC Advertising and Graphic Design Graduates to Present Portfolios at ‘Invision’ Showcase Event

April 26, 2013 – Advertising and graphic design graduates at Davidson County Community College will soon have the chance to display their talents as part of Invision: A Portfolio Showcase. The event will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. with a reception from 6 to 8 p.m. on May 3 in Room 115 of the Sinclair Building on the Davidson Campus

“Our students created this event themselves as an outlet to not only showcase the various projects they’ve completed during their time studying at DCCC, but also to appeal to prospective employers and businesses in the area that may be in need of graphic designers or freelance services,” says Carl Shatley, instructor of arts and graphic design at DCCC.

Five students, Aaron Adkins, Deborah Davis, Brittany Grice, Vicki Hill and Andrew McCarn, will present their personal portfolios at the event, as well as websites they’ve created.

“Andrew McCarn came up with the idea to present portfolios, and together, these students worked to develop the overall presentation and brand identity for the event – every aspect right down to the room arrangement showcases how they deal with design,” Shatley says. “Students in our program display a great deal of talent and insight into the industry; we see a lot of creative works produced here. We encourage employers and businesses in the community to see what our students have to offer.”

Employers and businesses interested in attending should RSVP to invisionportfolio@gmail.com by May 1.
