Uptown Lexington Education Center

Success is waiting for you in the heart of the city–no high school diploma or GED required!

We have everything you need to say “Yes, I completed my high school education!” at the Uptown Lexington Education Center located at 20 First Street.

  • We have a state-of-the-art facility that features computers, technology, and smart boards for every student regardless of experience.
  • You will enjoy small group learning with knowledgeable instructors who get to know their students.
  • Classes run Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
  • Adult students must be at least 18 years old to enroll. You must also attend an orientation session on the main campus to begin your courses.

The Uptown Lexington ESL Center opened in May 2004 at 20 East First Street. The center was made possible by our community partners:  BB&T, City of Lexington, Davidson Vision, DCCC, Friends of the Project, Lexcom, and Uptown Lexington, Inc.

Accreditation

DCCC is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award certificates, diplomas and associate degrees. DCCC remains open for business during COVID-19, with employees on staggered work schedules and teleworking to promote social distancing. Most summer classes are online. Summer hours are Monday-Thursday 7:30 am – 5:00 pm and Friday 8:00 am -12:00 pm. DCCC continues to monitor the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
