23rd Annual DCCC Foundation Golf Tournament
Davidson County Community College is looking forward to celebrating another 50 years of success with the upcoming 23rd Annual DCCC Foundation Golf Tournament. The event is scheduled for May 1 at the Sapona Ridge Country Club in Lexington.
The tournament includes two rounds – one at 8 a.m. and a second at 1:30 p.m. Cost to participate (a foursome) is $400. Sponsorship opportunities are also available for the event, ranging from $250 to $5,000. Participants may also enter the “Golfer Contest Package” for $20 each for “Closest to the Pin,” “Longest Putt,” “Inside the Circle” and “Hole-in-One.”
Also included during the tournament will be a free “Hole-In-One” contest, sponsored by Davis Chevrolet Buick GMC, with the chance to win a new car and other prizes. DCCC Therapeutic Massage students will also offer free chair massages to golfers from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Jenny Varner, vice president of External Affairs and executive director of the DCCC Foundation, notes that funds raised from the tournament help to support students, programs and other special initiatives for DCCC’s future.
“More than 35 percent of all DCCC students are the first in their families to attend college, and nearly 80 percent received need-based financial aid,” Varner says. “Events like our annual golf tournament truly help maximize opportunities for these students. So not only is this a great community event, but also one that will benefit the lives and education of our students.”
Those interested in participating in the tournament should register by April 15. Contact the DCCC Foundation for more details at 336-224-4680 or email@example.com.
