Basic Civil Process

This course is designed to provide the deputy sheriff with the proper skills, techniques, procedures, and responsibilities that govern the duties of the office of the Sheriff of North Carolina

At the completion of this course of instruction, students will be able to identify and discuss he types of civil processes including the return of civil process services and time limits on each civil process that must be returned to the clerk of court; identify proper procedures that must be taken concerning domestic violence orders.

Students utilizing elements learned in this basic levels course of training in basic civil process will be able to discuss duties and responsibilities of the sheriffs of North Carolina; identify the different types of civil processes; define the elements of domestic violence orders and other related domestic violence statutes; identify in detail the proper procedures taken in domestic violence orders; and including recent legislative and case law changes.

This class is for NC Commission Certified Law Enforcement Officers.
