This program will focus on service and cultural immersion in the beautiful lake town of Tecpán, Guatemala. Students will volunteer during the morning and spend the afternoons learning about the culture, food, language and history of Guatemala. The program includes opportunities to participate in fun cultural activities, such as zip-lining and painting with local merchants. You will travel with students and faculty from Central Piedmont Community College.
This trip is intended for:
Nursing students, Early Childhood Education students and anyone interested in the history and culture of Guatemala
You will experience:
Cultural immersion, history, music, local art, delicious cuisine, hospitality and more!
Course: All participants must take HUM 120 (or the continuing education version of the course) throughCentral Piedmont Community College.
*Participants who pay the $200 deposit after Sept. 29 will pay a $100 late fee.
- Round-trip airfare

Fee does NOT include
- Passport Fees – visit the State Department website for information
- Approximately 4 meals during the 2 week period

Application open through January 2018.
After completing the study abroad application, pay a non-refundable $200 deposit to the DCCC Business Office to reserve your spot.

Students who receive Pell are also eligible to apply for a federal Gilman scholarship for the Guatemala program.
