Wait List Instructions for Students

Students will be notified by EMAIL (DCCC e-mail account) if they are registered into a class from the wait list.

1. Students may place themselves on the wait list for classes in StormTrac. Students may also manage their wait list in StormTrac under the “Manage My Wait List” tab.
   
   
2. Students may choose to wait list for multiple sections of a course.
   • If students choose to wait list for multiple sections of a course, it is possible to be registered in both sections at the same time.
   • Students must check their “My Class Schedule” on StormTrac regularly to make sure they drop one of the sections.
     
     
3. Some courses have a required co‐requisite lab.
1. When you are placed on the wait list for a class, you must also be placed on the wait list for the co-requisite lab.
2. Examples of these types of classes include CHM 131 and CHM 131A, MAT 161 and MAT 161A, MAT 151 and MAT 151A, MAT 155 and MAT 155A, SPA 111 AND SPA 181, etc.
   
   
4. If you are moved from the wait list and registered for a class and you decide not to take the class, you should log in to StormTrac to drop the class in order to avoid being charged for the class.
   
   
5. The wait list processor is run every morning after registration begins.
   • The wait list processor moves students into classes if there is an open seat and the student’s schedule does not conflict with the wait listed class schedule.
   • The wait list processor will not register you into a class if you are already registered for a class that meets at that same time.
   • The wait list processor runs for the last time 2 days before the first day of class.
   • Once classes begin, the wait list becomes void and students must have instructor permission to add classes. Wait-listed classes will no longer show on the student’s StormTrac.
