Location: Davidson Campus (Front of Mendenhall Building)
- Graduation candidates should complete the online Commencement Participation Form.
- All candidates for graduation should arrive at the Brinkley Building Gymnasium by 9:00 a.m. in order to line up and receive final instructions.
- The commencement program begins promptly at 10:00 a.m. and lasts approximately 1 ½ hours.
CAP AND GOWN (Regalia)
- Participants should pick up their cap and gown during DCCC Bookstore Hours (listed below) beginning Tuesday, April 24 through Friday, May 11.
- Participants are responsible for purchasing their regalia and will pay at the time of pick-up at the DCCC bookstore.
- Cost estimates for the items are as follows:
- Cap, gown & 1 tassel, with Associate Degree Hood - $64 plus tax
- Cap, gown & 1 tassel for Certificate or Diploma Graduate - $41 plus tax
- Extra souvenir tassel - $6 plus tax
- PTK Stole - $20 plus tax
- ASL Cords - $13 plus tax
- Students graduating with honors will receive a gold tassel during the line-up on graduation day. Honors will be announced on graduation day.
DCCC BOOKSTORE HOURS
- DCCC Bookstore Regular Hours:
- Monday – Thursday: 8:00 am – 6:00 pm
- Friday: 8:00 am – 2:00 pm
- The phone number to the DCCC Bookstore is 336-248-4466.
- The DCCC bookstore will be open 9:00 a.m. – 12 p.m. on Graduation Day so guests may purchase diploma frames, disposable cameras, batteries, etc.
COMMENCEMENT ANNOUNCEMENTS & CLASS RINGS

Commencement announcements may be purchased either online or in the DCCC Bookstore beginning Monday, April 19th.
- Graduates may also choose to order a class ring in the DCCC Bookstore.
GRADUATE INFORMATION SESSIONS
- Graduates who are planning to participate in the Commencement Ceremony are REQUIRED to attend one of the following information sessions on the Davidson Campus:
- Evening Session: Wednesday, May 9 at 6:00 p.m. in the Conference Center, 2nd floor
- Day Session: Thursday, May 10 at 9:00 a.m. in the Conference Center, 2nd floor
- At this 1-hour session, you will receive instructions on the graduation lineup and process. You will have an opportunity to ask questions.
- Rain tickets will be distributed after each session.
- Each graduate will receive a maximum of 2 rain tickets for their guests.
DIPLOMAS
- Students who applied for May graduation by March 1st should receive their diploma by mail after June 10th. If you have not received the diploma by June 30th, you should receive it in August.
- Students who applied for May graduation after March 1st will receive their diploma in August.
- Diplomas cannot be released to students who have a balance due to the college, including fines.
SEATING AND PARKING
- Vehicle parking will be in any of the student, visitor, or faculty lots on campus.
- The outside seating arrangement will hold approximately 2,000 people. Five hundred seats are reserved for the graduates and faculty. All other seating is available for guests of the graduates on a first-come, first-serve basis.
SPECIAL NEEDS SEATING
- If you or a family member anticipates having any special needs due to a disability or medical condition during graduation, please be sure to include this on your Graduation Participation Form or e-mail telookab@davidsonccc.edu by Friday, April 27th so that we may make appropriate arrangements.
- Special parking areas will be reserved for vehicles with a state-issued handicapped placard.
PHOTOGRAPHS
- A professional photography company, Chappell Graduation Images, will photograph each graduate as they cross the stage to receive the diploma case. An additional photo will be taken of each graduate after they exit the stage.
- Register your information before the ceremony at www.gradimages.com and receive $5.00 off your picture order.
- Picture proofs will be available at www.gradimages.com about two or three weeks after the ceremony. Please direct all photo inquiries to Chappell Graduation Images.
