The Fitness Center is a state of the art workout facility in the North Carolina Community College System. This Center provides faculty, staff, students, and alumni the opportunity to stay fit and healthy. Our equipment includes new Cybex pin-select weight training machines, treadmills, elliptical trainers, stair climbers, stationary and spin cycles, and a full free weight training area. There is a certified aerobics
instructor and personal trainer on staff to assist anyone in meeting their fitness goals. Group exercise classes are also offered free of charge to all students and staff throughout the week.

Group Exercise Classes
Cardio Kickbox: A cardiovascular interval workout that incorporates boxing techniques with aerobic exercises
Sculpt: A total body workout utilizing dumbbells, resistance tubing, and body weight exercises to strengthen and tone major muscles of the body.
Cardio Circuit: A “Boot Camp” style workout that involves moving through various exercise stations improving both strength and aerobic fitness.
Cardio Combo: A little bit of everything rolled into one class to get your heart rate up and give you a fun cardiovascular workout.
Pilates: Exercise created by Joseph Pilates, a gentle yet effective training method that allows you to strengthen, stretch, and relax your muscles, while improving posture and core stability.
Women & Weights: A 4 week class designed to educate females on the benefits of weight training, increase participants’ confidence in the free weight area, and explain how to create simple, effective exercise programs for women.
**Class size is limited to 10 women/class- Sign up is required. Please contact Janelle Bowman at x6320 for more details and to sign up. Class time is tentatively set for Tuesdays from 5-6pm, however depending on interest levels, and additional class time may be offered.
Intramurals
The College offers basketball, volleyball, indoor soccer, and softball intramurals in the fall and spring semesters. Participation is open to all faculty, staff, and students. New dates and times will be posted soon!
