How do I get a library card?
At the Davidson Campus, library cards may be obtained on the first floor of the library at the Circulation Desk. At the Davie Campus, library cards may be obtained in the campus office located directly across from the library. Library cards are available free of charge. DCCC and Guilford Technical Community College (GTCC) share a common library, and card holders are allowed to use the card for borrowing purposes at either facility.
 

How do I get the passwords to use the library's on-line databases from off-campus?
Passwords to all of the library's on-line databases are available to DCCC students, faculty, and staff. These passwords may be obtained in person or via email, Library Reference Desk. In your email, please include “Passwords” in the subject field, your full name, and college id number. If you do not know your college id number, please provide your full name and library card number.

NC Live passwords are available to all DCCC Library card holders including Community Borrowers and may be obtained in person or via email, Library Reference Desk. In your email, please include “NC Live Password” in the subject field, your full name, and library card number.

How do I donate materials to the library?
The library welcomes gifts/donations. At the Davidson Campus, please bring your gifts/donations to the Circulation Desk located on the first floor of the library. At the Davie Campus, please bring your gifts/donations to the campus office. All gifts/donations must be accompanied by a completed Gifts/Donations Form.
 

How do I renew the materials I checked out?
Books can be renewed by phone at 336.224.4727, by email, Library Reference Desk, or on-line via the Library Catalog. To renew books via email, please include your full name, college id or library card number, and the title of the book you wish to renew. Books may be renewed for 1 week. All other items are nonrenewable.
 

How do I request a book from another library?
Requests for items may be made by phone at 336.224.4727, by email, Library Reference Desk, or on-line via the Library Catalog. The Library Catalog allows you to request books from Guilford Technical Community College, Carteret Community College, and Cape Fear Community College. To request a book that is not in the Library Catalog, see the information under How do I place an Interlibrary Loan request?
 

How do I place an Interlibrary Loan request?
Interlibrary Loan requests may be made by phone at 336.224.4727 or by email, Library Reference Desk. Interlibrary Loan requests are limited to DCCC students, faculty, and staff. In your email, please include "ILL" in the subject field, your full name, your college id number, and as much information about the item as possible.
 

How do I send a fax at the library?
To send a fax, please come to the Reference Desk located on the second floor of the Davidson Campus Library. The charge for sending a fax is $1.00 per page.

How do I access the Library’s Wi-Fi internet?
Free wireless Internet access is available at both Davidson and Davie Campus Libraries. For technical assistance, please ask the library staff.
