Mission Statement/Description
English as a Second Language (ESL) teaches English to adults whose native language is not English. Instruction includes conversation, pronunciation, vocabulary, basic reading and writing, spelling, and English grammar. Citizenship preparation is also available.

Special Admission Requirements
The student does not speak English as a first language and completes an assessment on the CASAS Life Skills assessment system.

When may I begin classes?
ESL has open registration. A student may begin anytime during the semester.

How long will it take me to learn English?
It depends on the level of English a student speaks upon entry into the program, attendance in class, and dedication to learning.

How much do the classes cost?
Classes and materials are free.
