Mission Statement/Description
This program is designed to improve skills in math, oral and written communication, and reading for entry into college courses. This review program is now offered on-line to students who are unable to attend a traditionally scheduled class. Students review reading, writing, math, algebra, and study skills in order to prepare for entry into college.

Students will be using the Blackboard platform to access this program. Students must be comfortable using the computer and have a reliable Internet connection.

Process for Admission to ACE Distance Learning Course
Students must be at least 18 years old and must attend orientation before they can start this course. Orientation lasts about three hours. Please fill out the form to sign up for an orientation. You will be sent a confirmation e-mail to verify that you will be attending the ACE Distance Learning orientation.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much do these courses cost?
There is no cost for the courses, and no book is needed for this course. Students will be required to have access to a computer with a reliable Internet connection.

Is this a totally on-line course?
Students must attend an assessment and orientation to the course and then must commit to returning to campus for a post-test assessment. All the curriculum course information is delivered on-line via the Blackboard course management software.

When can I start this course?
You must register for one of the orientation dates before you start this course.

I have looked at the sample Blackboard course, and I am not sure that distance learning is right for me. Are there any other options for this ACE course?

How long will it take me to finish the course?
This will vary with each student. It is based on the student’s assessment results and the time each student has available to work on lessons at home.
