Mission Statement/Description
The Compensatory Education Development Program (CED) is designed specifically for adults who have been diagnosed as being mentally handicapped or adults functioning in an equivalent level resulting from a head or brain injury. The CED program consists of seven major curriculum areas that include: language, community living, math, consumer education, health, and vocational education. Additional modules also include: problem solving, computer instruction, leisure education, and self-advocacy.
Special Admission Requirements
Contact the CED coordinator to get information on class location. Students are then oriented and complete a program assessment. Based on the student's knowledge, skills, and abilities, an individualized curriculum plan is outlined and taught to the student. To be eligible to participate in a CED class, an individual must be 18 years of age or older.
