Mission Statement/Description
This program is designed to improve skills in math, oral and written communication, reading, and teamwork for the workplace or entry into college classes. Instruction is designed to correlate with Accuplacer, ASSET, Compass or WorkKeys assessments. Classes and materials are offered at no cost to the student.

How can I register for the Basic Skills Review classes?
There is an open enrollment so students may begin at any time during each semester. Registration is provided at a required orientation/assessment session. There is no registration fee. Books and materials are provided at no cost to the student. Call Susan Ellis at 336.249.8186, ext. 4577 or email smellis@davidsonccc.edu for orientation dates and times.
It has been years since I was in school. I would like to take a refresher course before I begin college. Are there classes available for me?
The Basic Skills Review class provides the perfect opportunity for anyone to brush up on basic skills. This class is also designed to help students review before taking the community college's placement test.
How much do the classes cost?
There is no cost for the classes, and the materials are provided free.
How can I improve my job skills in this class?
This class provides training in skills for employment using the WorkKeys and KeyTrain programs, which are correlated to the WorkKeys assessments.
