Do I have to register for all 8 topics?
No. Each course number contains all eight topics and begins a new series of the topics. One course number and one course fee covers the entire 34 hours or any combination thereof.
Is this course approved by the NC Board of Nursing?

No. This course is entirely online and does not require you to come to campus for anything.
I usually have to pay over $100 for an 8-hour course. How can you offer 34 CEUs for only $65?
This course is delivered through DCCC, and community college course fees are very affordable!
Do I have to take all 34 hours of CEUs?
No. If you only want to take one topic then you will receive credit for the one topic that you complete. If you want to take any combination of topics, you may do so as well. The $65 fee allows you to pick and choose the topics you complete. If you complete all 34 hours you only pay the one price of $65. If you want to complete one topic for 5 hours, the cost is still $65
I would like to take the course, but I don't think my computer skills are good enough. Does DCCC offer an introductory computer course?
Absolutely!
DCCC offers a range of introductory courses, including Keyboarding and Computers for Beginners. For information, call 336.224.4550.
Does one instructor teach the entire course?
No. We have different instructors that teach the topics. Each instructor is a subject matter expert in the weekly topic.
Do I have to be online at any specific time?
No. You just need to complete all of the work for each topic sometime during the week it is offered.
How much time should I devote to the course each week?
You should expect to spend from 3-5 hours each week performing course work.
How do I register for a course?
Call the DCCC Registration Office at 336.249.8186 with your desired Course Number (from the list above). You may pay for the course by check or credit card, or with your employer's authorization, your employer can be invoiced.
What is “Continuing Competence?”
Continuing Competence was put into action by the North Carolina Board of Nursing (NCBON) in July of 2006. All nurses renewing their licenses on or after July 1, 2008 will have to attest to having completed their “Continuing Competence” requirements. For more information, go to the NCBON website.
