Abby Elizabeth Younts and Joshua Marshall Nifong were married Saturday, Dec. 16, 2006 , at Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church in Thomasville.
The couple exchanged vows in a 2 p.m. ceremony before Dr. Keith Carroll.
Pianist Trisha Nichols, the bride's aunt, and vocalists Donna Padon, Randy Wallace and Cheryl Wallace presented a program of music.
The bride is the daughter of Steve and Kim Younts of Lexington. She is the granddaughter of Wade and Myrtie Younts and Homer and Ottie Foster, all of Lexington. She is a 2003 graduate of Central Davidson High School and is scheduled to graduate in May 2007 from Davidson County Community College with a nursing degree.
The groom is the son of Joey and Tracy Nifong of Lexington. He is the grandson of Nancy Nifong and Barry and Cherry Davis, all of Lexington, and Danny and Judy Chandler of Advance. He is a 2003 graduate of North Davidson High School . He is employed as a real estate agent with Robertson Realty.
The bride's father escorted her.
The groom's father served as best man.
Brett Younts and Chase Younts, the bride's brothers, Brent Tally, Jared Sink and Samuel Nifong were ushers.
Jayanna Nichols, the bride's cousin, was matron of honor.
Erin Downing, the bride's cousin, Audrey Nifong, the groom's sister, Katie Lopp, Jennifer Bivens and Luci Hilton were bridesmaids.
Chesney Nichols was flower girl.
Mandi Burkhart and Leigh-Ann Leonard, the bride's cousins, registered guests.
Kylie Nifong and Taylor Hartis, the groom's cousins, distributed programs.
Kristy Sheffield directed the wedding.
After a trip to Walt Disney World and Clearwater , Fla. , the couple will make their home in Lexington.
Reception
The bride's parents hosted a reception at the Lexington Municipal Club following the ceremony. Craig and Connie Stewart, the bride's uncle and aunt, greeted guests.
Rehearsal Dinner
The groom's parents hosted a dinner at Safari Steakhouse on Dec. 15.
