Application Procedures for VA Benefits

Students Seeking Veterans' Services should contact Beverly Brown Billings in the Financial Aid Office. New students who are using their veterans’ education benefits for the first time will need to fill out a DCCC Veterans Contract and all students will need to fill out the Enrollment Plan Memo for each academic year they are at DCCC. These forms will need to be printed, filled out and returned to the VA Office at DCCC. These documents are for internal use only and will not affect your VA Education Benefits.

Chapter 30, 33 or 1606
If you are a veteran and this is the first time you will be using your VA Educational Benefits you will need to complete form 22-1990 Application for VA Education Benefits" and provide a copy of your DD-214 or NOBE (Notice of Basic Eligibility) and any paperwork that you have concerning additional "kicker" payments.

If you are a veteran and you have used your Educational Benefits at another college you will need to complete form 22-1995 "Request for Change of Program or Place of Training".

If you are the spouse of a veteran and this is the first time you will be using your VA Educational Benefits you will need to complete form 22-5490 "Application for Survivors' and Dependents' Educational Assistance" and provide a copy of your marriage certificate.

If you are the dependent or spouse of a veteran and you have used your Educational Benefits at another college you will need to complete form 22-5495 "Request for Change of Program or Place of Training."
