DCCC Foundation Scholarships for the 2011-2012 Academic Year


The DCCC Foundation provides scholarships established through the generosity of private donors and organizations in our community who support our students and programs.  Some donors have stipulated that preference be given to students meeting specific criteria, so please complete all the fields on the application including the essay.
 
*The DCCC Foundation continues to review applications for the 2011 spring and summer semesters. 

To be considered for a 2011-12 DCCC Foundation Scholarship:

  • You must have completed a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) for the 2011-2012 academic year.
  • You must complete a DCCC Scholarship Application by March 31, 2011 including an essay.
  • You must be enrolled at DCCC as a full time student (in 12 credit hours or more).

General Scholarship Information:

  • Awards are primarily based upon financial need, however, there are a limited number of merit awards. 
  • Academic standards for scholarships may vary depending upon the award.
  • In most cases preference is given to students entering their second year of studies with 26 completed credit hours.
  • Most scholarships are awarded prior to the start of the academic year for fall and spring terms.

Navy Seal Josh Harris Scholarship Application
The DCCC Foundation is accepting applications for The Navy Seal Josh Harris Scholarship for the 2011-2012 academic year.  This scholarship was established by Dr. and Mrs. Samuel Harris to honor their son, Chief Petty Officer First Class SEAL, Joshua Harris.  Josh was killed in 2008 while on active duty in Afghanistan.  Preference will be given to a student who embodies Josh’s qualities of creativity and dedication to family, community, and country.
