Beginning August 21, 2006, students taking an on-line course must meet acceptable placement scores on the computer assessment or must pass CTS 080-Computing Fundamentals.
On-line courses are conducted over the Internet and typically do not have regular meetings in a physical space. At a minimum, on-line courses will require students to have regular access to a personal computer running Windows 98 or higher version, at least a 56 kbps dialup connection to the Internet, an e-mail account, and Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher version, and Microsoft Word. Specific course requirements are listed below.

- Internet access and an existing email account
- Access to Office 2003 - Word and PowerPoint
- Proctored exams (Davidson campus, Davie campus, or another community college in which the student can arrange a proctor.)
