Davidson County Community College provides exceptional Auto Mechanic Training in the Triad NC area. DCCC's Automotive Repair Training program in NC provides quality educational opportunities and services to help you prepare for careers or advancement as Automotive Service Technicians. Certifications, degrees and diplomas are offered for the automotive program.
The Auto Mechanic Training program involves an extensive hands-on experience. You will spend about 50-70% of class time in the shop doing hands-on assignments. The auto mechanic curriculum provides an introduction to automotive careers, helping increase your awareness of the challenges associated with this fast and ever-changing field.
Classroom and lab experiences combine technical and educational course work. Emphasis is placed on theory, servicing and operation of brakes, electrical systems, electronic systems, engine performance, steering and suspension, automatic transmission/transaxles, engine repair, climate control, and manual drive trains. Completion of this curriculum should prepare you to take the ASE exam and be ready for fulltime employment in the auto service industry.

Completion of the Auto Mechanic Training program should help you:
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of the operations for an automobile gasoline engine, air conditioning, braking, and chassis systems, while applying authorized safety practices.
