2009 Distinguished Alumni Award Recipient

Police Chief Ronald S. Bratton

Claudette White, DCCC Alumni Association Executive Committee Memberat- Large, DCCC Alumni Association President, Jonna Threadgill, Dr. Mary Rittling, College President welcomed Police Chief Ronald S. Bratton as the 2009 DCCC alumniawardDistinguished Alumni. Bratton spoke at the 2009 Commencement
and presented each new graduate an DCCC Alumni Association lapel pin.

Ronald S. Bratton, was recognized for his life-long service to his community as well as his professional and career achievement. Bratton graduated from Thomasville Senior High School and continued his education at Davidson County Community College, receiving an A.A.S. Degree in Criminal Justice. He received his B.S. degree from Guilford College in Administrative Science.

Chief Bratton joined the Thomasville Police department in 1974 where he moved through the ranks and became the fi rst black police chief in the Chair City in 2006. Chief Bratton retired after 35 years of distinguished service to the community in 2009.
