Mission

The mission of the Advisement and Transfer Center is to guide, serve, and support students by partnering with the academic schools and support services to promote diverse educational experiences and to foster success and responsible citizenship.

Purpose

  • To create a seamless admission, orientation, and academic advising process
  • To improve academic performances of students
  • To improve student retention and persistence toward educational goals

Goals

  • Direction in clarifying self-understanding, self-acceptance, career and life goals
  • Assistance in helping develop plans suited to educational and career goals
  • Provision of appropriate interpretation and understanding of program requirements
  • Assistance in developing decision-making skills
  • Awareness of policies, procedures, and available resources that will enhance the education of students
  • Monitoring of student academic progress toward their degree
  • Provide student data to appropriate areas of the college for interpretation

Comprehensive Articulation Agreement (CAA)
The Associate in Arts (AA) and Associate in Science (AS) degrees provide courses toward a bachelor’s degree at a four-year college or university. The Comprehensive Articulation Agreement (CAA) addresses the transfer of credits between institutions in the North Carolina Community College System to members of the University of North Carolina system.
