Associate in Arts (AA) – 64 credit hour degree with an emphasis on courses such as English, fine arts, foreign languages, history, philosophy, political science/global studies, psychology, pre-teaching, or sociology/social work AA Curriculum
Associate in Science (AS) – 64 credit hour degree with an emphasis on courses such as biology, chemistry, engineering, mathematics, pre-teaching, or physics AS Curriculum
Associate in General Education (AGE) – 64 credit hour degree that is sometimes used for education majors. Students in this degree program will still need to decide on AA or AS track unless specific agreement is set up with the transfer institution and the AGE is needed. AGE Curriculum
Choose the degree that best matches your anticipated major. If you are undecided about your major area, then both the AA and AS are good options for you.
Can I transfer with an Associate in Applied Science (AAS)?
(Ex. Accounting, Criminal Justice, Early Childhood Education, etc.)
This degree is not generally used for transfer into baccalaureate level programs; however, some colleges/universities will accept all or part of the credits from some of these programs. If you are interested in the transfer potential of these programs, you should consult your advisor or see someone in the Advisement and Transfer Center.
