Other Information
Schedule of Class Dates
- The TDT program is approved for veterans benefits, but not the FAFSA (Pell Grant). Questions regarding VA benefits or other possible funding should be directed to the DCCC Financial Aid Office in person on the 2nd floor of the Mendenhall Bldg., at (336) 249-8186, ext. 6714, or email inquiries to financialassist@davidsonccc.edu.
- For additional information on the Truck Driver Training program or to schedule an appointment to register for the class and pay your tuition, contact Amy Kepley in the DCCC Admissions Office (2nd floor, Mendenhall Bldg.) at (336) 249-8186, ext. 6253, or email inquiries to akepley@davidsonccc.edu.
- Due to the nature of work in the truck driving industry, there are certain physical requirements which are necessary in order to successfully obtain a class A commercial drivers license and work in the industry. There will be a physical skills test on the second day of class that will determine if the student can do the following: enter and exit the cab safely, enter and exit the trailer safely, press in the clutch, go under the trailer and check their coupling, and go behind the cab and check their connections.
- While DCCC has an open admissions policy, many employers require criminal background checks and will not hire convicted felons. Presence of a felony on your record will severely limit your employment opportunities in this field. Also, the presence of a DUI or certain traffic violations may present challenges to finding employment in this field.
