New for the 2010-2011 academic year: DCCC and the Zoo and Aquarium Science (ZAS) program of the School of Arts, Sciences and Education has just received a National Science Foundation S-STEM grant for awarding scholarships to qualifying Zoo and Aquarium students! These scholarships are targeted for third, fourth, and fifth semester students, but first year students may also qualify for these awards. Any interested ZAS student should be sure to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the current academic year if they have not already completed this step.
For more details about the Zoo and Aquarium Science degree program, please see Zoo and Aquarium Science web page.
At DCCC, we are committed to providing exceptional learning experiences for all students in the areas of science, math, engineering, and technology (STEM). The faculty understand that to broaden students’ learning in these areas plays a critical role in enabling the United States to remain the economic and technological leader in the 21st century marketplace. To gain the foundational competencies that will be required to pursue and attain high tech, high skill, and high paying jobs, we believe that students need focused learning experiences (FLEX) in these disciplines which provide opportunities to develop methods of inquiry and gain understanding through direct experiences.
We encourage students to FLEX their STEM muscles by engaging in these focused learning experiences (FLEX):
