Davie County has been chosen as one of three areas in North Carolina to participate in the North Carolina STEM Community Collaborative. DCCC has engaged in the planning process along with partners from public schools, business and local government. This has led to an initiative to create a sustainable K-20 STEM culture in Davie County through innovative teacher preparation and professional development.

 

DCCC currently has several efforts underway aimed at creating a greener campus.  As part of the North Carolina Community College System Code Green initiative, DCCC has formed a Green Team led by Davie biology instructor Holly Weir.  Davie faculty, staff and students are engaging in recycling, energy conservation and other activities which promote green thinking.
