Emergency Medical Technician - Basic
This course is designed to educate students to recognize a variety of medical emergencies and provide efficient and prompt emergency care. Emphasis is placed on evaluating diagnostic signs and determining the extent of injury or illness. Pre-requisite: Satisfactory 10th grade reading test score on College-administered placement test or exemption based on documented college level English course (Admissions can help confirm your exemption 336-249-8186, ext. 6731). Online-Hybrid Emergency Medical Technician - Basic
This course is designed to educate students to recognize a variety of medical emergencies and provide efficient and prompt emergency care. Students will meet on campus from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. on the following dates: January 14, February 3, 10, 24, March 23, April 13, May 4, 5, 18, 19. Paramedic
This course, the first of three semesters, is designed to educate students who have completed an EMT-Basic program to the paramedic level of care provision. Invasive skills and comprehensive assessments are taught to enable the student to provide advanced life support to the ill or injured patient. Special admissions procedures are required for this course: 1) proof of HS/GED completion; 2) proof of EMT Basic certification and 3) placement scores indicating college-level academic readiness in reading, writing and math skills or exemption based on documented college level English and math courses (Admissions can help confirm your exemption 336-249-8186, ext. 6731). Course Fees: Course fees vary from $65 - $175 per course depending on the number of hours within the course. In-state and out-of-state tuition for continuing education is the same!

If you are affiliated (paid or volunteer) with a fire department, rescue squad, EMS service, or law enforcement agency in North Carolina, your fees are waived and you only have to pay for insurance and any required books.
