How long does it take to get your AHS diploma?
The time it takes to earn the AHS diploma depends on the dedication of the student, the time commitment to attending class, and the credits a students has when he/she enters.
What are the major differences between earning a GED diploma or an AHS diploma?
Individuals who enroll in the AHS program will be required to complete 24 instructional units equivalent to those required by public schools and pass the College placement test. Individuals in the GED program take a series of tests called the General Educational Development. Those who pass these five tests with a score of 2,250 or higher demonstrate that they have attained the skills of the average high school graduate in the areas of reading, math, writing, social studies, and science, and will be awarded a GED diploma.
Will I be able to use my diploma to go to college or get a job?
Yes. Most state colleges, universities and private colleges accept both diplomas. All employers accept the AHS diploma as a recognized high school credential.
Do I need my High School transcript?
Yes. You need to bring a sealed official copy of your high school transcript to orientation.
Will colleges, universities, or the military accept the Adult High School Diploma?
Yes. The Adult High School program is a SACs accredited program, which most colleges, universities, and branches of the military accept as a High School credential.
