Networking Technology Graduate
Rick Schwendiman began his educational pursuit at DCCC after a brief experience with a self-paced study program that assisted him in obtaining the Net+ certification. He realized he needed to have a degree to become successful, so he obtained an Associate Degree in Networking, a diploma in Information Technology, and a certificate in Programming. While in school, he worked on campus as an intern in the Networking lab and with the Information Systems department for the DCCC campus. He assisted with designing and implementing the layout of the network wiring and device infrastructure in the Networking lab.
Rick's internship placed him with Morton Metal Craft Corporation in Welcome, where he was hired to work in the IS department assisting in network support for three facilities located in the Southeast, they utilize remote connections to troubleshoot and repair problems for users in all three plants. Rick acknowledges his experience at DCCC was essential for his success as an Information Systems professional.
