Frequently Asked Questions
What are the admissions requirements?
Students should have experience with math beyond the Algebra II level and chemistry and physics to be successful in the pre-major.
Will my work transfer to other schools?
Your advisor will assist you in determining which courses will transfer. To assure ease of transferability, plan on earning the Associate’s in Arts, Associate’s in Science, the Associate’s in General Education of the Associate’s in Fine Arts degrees. The Comprehensive Articulation Agreement assures transfer of course credits for any student holding on of these degrees.
What would I need to transfer?
Students should plan on completing a course of study at DCCC that include work beyond calculus and PHY 251/252. This work indicates a student’s competitive edge for university acceptance, as well as increases chances for financial aid.
Also, check with the school to which you would like to transfer about the admission policy and procedure. When you apply to the university of choice, you will be asked to send a transcript for evaluation, as well as a list of courses in which you are presently enrolled. When you submit the university application, go to the DCCC Business Office and ask that an official transcript be sent to the university as soon as possible. If you are currently enrolled, you will also have to send another transcript when you have completed the course work for that semester. |
