March 28, 2008The Davidson County Community College Student Government Association (SGA) will hold its annual formal spring dance Friday, April 11, on the Davidson Campus. The dance is open to students, staff, faculty, alumni, and their guests.
The dance will take place in the Brinkley Gymnasium from 7:30 p.m. to midnight, and the theme is “A Night in Paris.” Featured will be a variety of DJ music by former SGA President Ryan Short, decorations that include a model of the Eiffel Tower, and catered hors d’oeuvres by The Buttercup Cafe.
Students voted to sponsor the dance again because of the success of last year’s spring dance, the first in more than 15 years. A popular attraction to be repeated this year will be the opportunity to ride in a horse-drawn carriage. Free carriage rides on the perimeter road surrounding the campus will be available to those who purchase dance tickets. In addition, a professional photographer will be available for those who desire photos.
The SGA Spring Dance Steering Committee members are Lynne Watts, SGA Advisor; Rick Hibbett, SGA president; Crystal Cornine, secretary; Victoria Young, treasurer; Jennifer McKnight, parliamentarian; and Danielle Miller, public information officer.
Advance tickets are $10 per person or $15 per couple. Tickets purchased at the door will be $15 for singles and $20 for couples. They are available for purchase in advance from SGA officers and the SGA advisor in Room 118-B of the Brooks Students Center through April 10.
