Davidson County Community College has begun the expansion of its campus in Mocksville, and is getting ready to open a new education center in Bermuda Run, the college has announced.
The expansion in Mocksville will provide a new library for both students and members of the public to use, including a computer lab with Internet access. The campus will also add a laboratory building with classroom space and a new bookstore.
The project began recently with the demolition of some existing space. The work should cost around $2 million.
The new Davie Education Center satellite campus next to the Bermuda Run Town Hall is complete, and will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony on April 14. The new facility has 3,500 square feet of space and will offer a distance-learning lab to link local students with other college campuses.
The center will also host a Small Business Center, which will provide entrepreneurial education and training.
