February 20, 2008 Davidson County, NC -- The North Carolina Highway Patrol held a special ceremony Wednesday, to honor a Davidson County trooper.
Trooper Ned Moultrie, Jr. received the Meritorius Service Award at Davidson County Community College.
His supervisors say he saved a young boy from abuse.
Last summer, Moultrie investigated a car pulled off Highway 64, just outside Lexington.
During his investigation, Moultrie found a man he says was sexually abusing a boy in the woods.
Davidson County Sheriff's deputies arrested Vincent Isom of Thomasville. He is charged with indecent liberties, first degree sex offense and crimes against nature.
