Davidson County Community College will offer the following Continuing Education classes beginning March 17, 2008. These classes are featured in the Spring 2008 Continuing Education Courses Registration Guide on pages 18 - 35. For additional information, please call Registration/Records at 249-8186. Nursing Assistant I
This course introduces basic nursing skills required to provide personal care for patients, residents, or clients in a health care setting. Upon successful completion of the course, the student is eligible to make application for the National Nurse Aide Assessment Program (NNAAP) Examination necessary for listing on the North Carolina Nurse Aide I Registry. Conviction of certain crimes under the law may prevent students from obtaining clinical training and/or employment. Special admissions procedures are required for this course. Nursing Assistant II
This course prepares graduates to perform complex nursing skills for patients or residents in a health care setting. Upon successful completion of this course and skills/competency evaluation, the graduate will be eligible to apply for listing by the North Carolina Board of Nursing as a Nurse Aide II. To qualify for this program you must have the following: Copy of High School Diploma or GED; Proof of Nurse Aide I Training (Certificate of Completion or Transcript from training school); Current Listing as a Nurse Aide I (obtained from www.ncnar.org website); Current CPR card; Photo ID and government issued ID (ex: driver’s license and social security card). Health Unit Coordinator
This course prepares students for clerical positions in hospitals and long-term care facilities. Ths Health Unit Coordinator performs non-nursing, organizational duties and coordination of health care activities. Content includes terminology, scheduling, order entry, and recordkeeping. Special admissions precedures are required for this course.

On-line Nursing – Continuing Education

Directions
The Davidson Campus is located half-way between Thomasville and Lexington at the intersection of I-85 Business Loop and Old Greensboro Road. If you are coming to DCCC from the Greensboro area on I-85, take Exit 118 for Business I-85 South. From the Salisbury area on I-85, take Exit 87 for Business I-85 North. From the Winston-Salem Area, follow U.S. 52 South to Lexington Exit 92 for Highway 8, then take Business I-85 North.
