Steps Toward Employment and Personal Success (S.T.E.P.S.) – CID # 12060
This is an open lab which provides one-on-one assistance to workers in transition as they seek to successfully enter today’s workplace. You will learn how to develop a professional resume, develop a successful job search strategy, look on the Internet to do on-line job searches, how to download and fill out on-line applications, how to communicate positively and effectively, and how to do well on a job interview. You will also be able to prepare for and obtain a Career Readiness Certificate and create a Career Portfolio. This course is fee waived (FREE) to those that are unemployed, have received notice of a layoff or meet eligibility requirements.

Medical Office Administration – CID #12067
Medical Office Administration is an introductory course designed to acquaint the student with specific knowledge and skills needed as an administrative medical assistant. Content includes general procedures, legal and ethical aspects of the job, communication and problem solving skills, and use the computer in the medical office. Exercises will also address developing a positive self concept. A list of other materials needed will be given at first class. Students must have some knowledge of Microsoft Word. Students need to bring a USB flash drive to the second class. Wait for information from instructor about what type to buy before purchasing one. Chinese Culture – CID # 12190
China is home to one of the longest continuously existent cultures in history and one that is having increasing impact upon the world. This seminar will focus on the key components of Chinese Culture that have shaped the nation and continue to contribute to its rise to prominence on the world stage. An analysis of China’s history, values, customs, and trends will highlight the identity of this truly unique country and provide basic insight into a culture so often different from our own.

From Salisbury, take I-85 North to Exit 103. Turn left onto Highway 109 North/Randolph Street. Cross the railroad tracks in downtown Thomasville. Randolph Street will become Salem Street. Turn left onto West Guilford Street.
From Winston-Salem, follow U.S. Hwy 52 South to Lexington Exit 92 for Highway 8, then take I-85 Business North. Take the Highway 109 South/Salem Street exit. Turn right onto West Guilford Street.
