Greensboro, N.C. - The American Association of Community Colleges reports more and more community colleges are meeting the needs of people with demanding schedules by offering midnight classes.

At this point, GTCC has no plans to offer midnight classes, but administrators always look for ways to make education more convenient.

"Many of our students are single parents, they work. They have other parts of their lives that impact their going to school time," GTCC spokesperson Connie Carroll said. "We try to accommodate the students in various ways. We do online learning for students. We have classes that are partially face to face and partially online for those that need a mix."

GTCC already offers night classes that start at 6:30 or 7:00. Students have mixed opinions about offering classes even later in the evening.

Student Shaquilla Porche said, "You don't know who would be out here walking and the classes are far apart."

Student Germani Lindsay said, "I don't like getting up in the mornings and I work during the day, too with my grandma. Having classes at midnight - it'd be less traffic, so I think it would be better."

We also checked with Davidson County Community College. The school told us evening classes there are more popular than ever. Plus, the college just started offering a "Friday only" class schedule. Students take a full course load and only have to attend class on Friday.
