Students at Davidson County Community College will mark the 10th anniversary of the events and lives lost on September 11, 2001, by creating and sending a banner of support and thanks to soldiers at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
On Friday, Sept. 9, beginning at 9:30 a.m., students on the Davidson Campus will gather in the Courtyard to complete their personal messages of thanks on the banner that will be delivered to U.S. Army soldiers stationed at Fort Bragg.
The banner of thanks and support for military men and women will be hung at Fort Bragg for troops to view while serving.
“In memory of 9/11 and those who lost their lives in the events of the day, this banner is a small way of saying thanks to our troops and their families for the efforts and sacrifices they have endured to ensure our freedoms here at home,” said Ron Jones, a DCCC career counselor helping students with the project.
