Thousands of students started their journey for the first time or returned for another year to continue their degree. The campus was full of eager people prepared to have a successful year.
"It's going pretty good," said 18-year-old Brittany Griffin about her first day. "I think it's kind of easy because I know where everything is from being here last year. I was a little nervous walking into new classes with new people and new professors."
Griffin started her second year at the school. She is part of the transfer program, where she's taking basic classes to eventually move on to another college or university. She didn't have any issues with parking spaces at 7:40 a.m., but she did have a hard time waking up to arrive at school for her 8 a.m. class.
