Craver, a rising freshman at West Davidson High School, was one of the 25 students who attended the three-day program that gave rising ninth- and 10th-grade students insight to careers in the medical and health care field.
"It has a lot of hands-on activities," she said. "It's a good program and helps us with deciding what kind of career path we may want to follow and what we will need to do in school to get on that path. It's been very interesting. I'm really glad that I attended."
Students from various high schools attended the program housed at Davidson County Community College and funded through a Northwest Area Health Education Center grant. The camp started five years ago to show students various medical-related careers. The sessions describe roles, responsibilities, career outlook, salary ranges, educational preparation and work environment.
