She has been the dean of health, wellness and public safety at DCCC for the past year and a half. Rohrbaugh has accepted a job as the vice president for workforce development and continuing education at the college in Elizabeth City.
"I love my job here, I love the people I work with," Rohrbaugh, 48, said. "I feel like I was given an opportunity here. I call it my mission work. There was an opportunity every day to make a difference. It's what you do with that day. There have been a lot of changes over the years; we have grown a tremendous amount. We truly are a college for the community."
She came to the college in 1993 after looking for something new. Her background consisted of employment in various hospitals where she started working in laboratories and ended up as the person training new hires. The interaction with people seemed like a good fit and was comfortable for her. Working at the college gave her the opportunity to still do something she enjoyed as well as be a part of education.
