Editor: I recently got the honor of watching my daughter, Brittany Cox, graduate from Davidson Early College with high honors and Davidson County Community College with an associates in arts degree. I can’t help but think how this road could have been so different.

Davidson Early College is a wonderful program that allows students to realize their full potential. It is not a high school but a family, “a home away from home.” My daughter has always been an honor student, but at Davidson Early College she found not only her niche but her voice. She gained confidence and maturity.
