Davidson County Community College will offer a one-day seminar for all U.S. Armed Services veterans on Friday, May 6, to help them become aware of services and benefits that could assist them in starting a new business or improving an existing one.
The seminar will be held in the DCCC Conference Center from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will feature information from a workforce development speaker, a banker and certified public accountant.
The keynote speaker is Terry Hunt, a sight-impaired disabled veteran.
“This is a first-time opportunity for us to offer information and support to veterans of any age, male and female,” said Toby Royston, director of the DCCC Small Business Center. “We hope to provide information on benefits and services available to veterans that they may not know much about or be aware of at all,” he said.
There is no charge to attend the seminar but registration is required by calling Royston at 336.224-4557.
