A popular continuing education course that helps prepare workers in transition for future success will be repeated on the Davie Campus of Davidson County Community College beginning Feb. 22.

Titled “Charted Pathways to Personal, Career and Academic Success,” the course is free to dislocated workers as well as those who are underemployed.

“This is the second semester we have offered this course, and it was a huge success,” said Rita Mathews, director of Student Success on the Davie Campus. “It is made up of different workshops that help prepare people for success in all aspects of life including academic, personal and career-related,” Mathews explained.

Geared for individuals who are looking to get more out of their lives, the sessions introduce students to clear pathways that can lead them to a brighter future.

“Some people want to be more successful, but they don’t know where to start in goal-planning,” said Mathews. “Our workshops are interactive, and they equip participants with empowering skills and tools to uncover the passion and meaning in their lives.”

Those who completed the course last year told instructors they were motivated, encouraged and inspired to set goals for themselves in an effort to discover what they truly wanted out of their lives and to map out a plan to get there.
