Students who plan to attend college in the 2011-2012 academic year and who need financial aid are invited to attend “FAFSA Day” at Davidson County Community College on Saturday, Feb. 19, for help in completing the required Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form.
FAFSA Day will be held from 9 a.m. to noon in the Love Learning Resources Building on the Davidson Campus. It is a free service offered by College Foundation of North Carolina, the North Carolina Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators and the State Employees' Credit Union.
Staff from DCCC’s Enrollment Services office will be on hand to assist students and their parents or spouses in completing their FAFSA forms. The completed FAFSA form is the first step in applying for financial aid and scholarships at DCCC. The earlier the form is completed and submitted, the sooner students will know details regarding their financial aid or scholarship eligibility. The FAFSA should be submitted no later than eight weeks before the semester in which students wish to enroll.
Federal tax returns from 2010 are needed to complete the FAFSA form. For more information, visit www.fafsa.gov
For those who need more information about DCCC enrollment or financial aid, contact the DCCC Enrollment Services Center, located on the second floor of the Mendenhall Building. It is open on Mondays and Tuesdays from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Wednesday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call 336-249-8186, ext. 6731.
