The Get REAL program of Davidson County Community College celebrated its 13th anniversary Wednesday with a luncheon for the students, staff members and all supporters of the program.
Get REAL, or Get Real Educational Achievements for Life, is a specialized program for students ages 16-21 that's geared to help them achieve their educational and employment goals and develop positive self-esteem and values to build a successful life.
“I thank everybody that had something to do with the program,” said Brenda Brown, program director of Get REAL. “Without the county support, this wouldn't have happened. We're overwhelmed with students.”
